Teen President's Message

President Kendall Alexander

2023-2024 Program Year

Hello everyone, welcome to the Jack and Jill Montgomery County Maryland Chapter Teen Group 6! My name is Kendall Alexander, and I’m a senior at Walter Johnson High School. I am so excited to serve as your Teen President for the 2024-25 program year. I had an amazing Teen Executive Board Retreat with my incoming officers in August, and we started off the program year with an amazing Teen Retreat at Camp Wabana in Edgewater, Maryland, where the teens participated in leadership development activities, community service activities and fellowshipped and bonded with one another.

My goals as President are to create a respectful, welcoming, and friendly environment for the teens to foster friendships and teamwork within Jack & Jill. The teen group will work with the JJMCMC mothers to carry out the mission of Jack and Jill of America, Inc to nurture future African American leaders by strengthening children through leadership development, volunteer service, philanthropic giving and civic duty.

We have a great year of programming planned for our teens to include our October activity, the College Tour and Hampton Experience, fulfilling our civic duty during our November activity to volunteer at the election polls, and our March activity, where we will fulfil our philanthropic giving by hosting our annual fundraising activity, a Teen Boat Cruise. I want the teens to interact with one another and be engaged in our activities and meetings. I also want us to share our ideas and work together efficiently as a group to plan for the Eastern Region Teen Conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I strive for us all to have an amazing, meaningful and successful program year.

With the help of the Teen E-Board, I believe we can have a wonderful year!

Warmly,

Kendall Signature
